Emma Chilvers - Director
I coach, facilitate and consult with a wide range of people from emerging leaders through to board level executives. I offer an integrative approach, combining individual, team and systems coaching with many years of consulting experience to work with individuals, their teams and their businesses – or the I, we and it (Wilbur, 2006). I am also a UKCP accredited psychotherapist.
I love to work with people for whom professional competence matters, with very high standards who want to be as excellent at leading as they are in their professional field. I specialize in the topic of self-confidence and work with people who want to feel equipped to handle not just external challenges, but also those coming from within. Clients come from all walks of life, including business leaders, academics, entrepreneurs, lawyers, consultants, software engineers, sportsmen and women, as well as many many others. I enjoy working across a wide range of sectors and company life stages, from growing tech companies through to well established providers of professional services. I am a qualified Co-active coach (CPCC) to ICF PCC standards and am ORSC systems coaching trained. I can also administer a wide range of psychometric tools, but usual recommend LuminaSpark and design and deliver 360 feedback surveys.
As a therapist, I take an integrative approach and blend different theoretical schools and approaches according to the needs of the client. I describe myself as psychodynamic in concept, humanistic in attitude and experiential in practice. I offer remote and face-to-face appointments based in rooms located in Kings Cross. Whilst my therapy clients are privately paying individuals, increasing awareness of workplace mental health makes therapeutic coaching an attractive proposition for many businesses. I am delighted to offer this to corporate clients, as well as leadership advisory coaching, a blend of coaching and consulting.
Underpinning all of the work I do are several principles;
-
A desire to help others see themselves more clearly
-
The belief that change is possible when we accept who we are
-
Emotions are a valuable part of being human and belong at work, and
-
Learning, growth and development matter
I started life as a scientist and hold a degree from Cambridge University in Natural Sciences. I also hold a Masters Degree in Psychotherapy and Counselling and a Post Graduate Certificate in Integrative Psychotherapy both from Regent’s College in London. Along the way, I have been elected to partnership in a major consulting firm and served as a non-executive director on a couple of boards. However, these days when I am not working you will find me walking with my dogs, tending my garden or swearing at my sewing machine.
